Natural Gemstones

WHO WE ARE

BStones – Brazilian Stones was born with the purpose of transforming the richness and uniqueness of Brazilian natural stones into semi-precious jewelry with original design, refined finish and striking style.
Each creation stems from the authentic beauty of nature and evolves through a rigorous design and production process, conceived for women who value elegance, exclusivity, and identity.

Our journey is based on three fundamental pillars:

  • The careful selection of natural stones — the stars of our pieces, timeless in the fashion world and icons of sophistication.

  • The rigorous technical development process, encompassing everything from creative conception to final finishing, ensures durability and a premium finish.

  • A commitment to authenticity: pieces that transcend fleeting trends and become part of today, tomorrow, and your personal history.

At BStones, each stone carries its own essence — color, texture, and energy — and each piece reflects meticulous craftsmanship combined with innovation. We work with pride so that you have in your hands not just an accessory, but a piece with meaning, made to shine and accompany you on your journey.

Our commitment goes beyond aesthetics: we want you to recognize yourself in our creations, for them to be part of your style, your routine, your special moments.

Both terms, "folheado" (plated) and "banhado" (plated), are commonly used to describe when a piece of jewelry undergoes the electroplating process. More traditional companies in this sector tend to use the term "folheado" while other brands use the name "Banhado" (plated), however, it's important to note that they are the same process. There is no difference between "folheado" and "balhado"; the difference lies in the amount of precious metal added to the pieces. This measurement is given in microns or thousandths.

In the past, the most common term was Plaquê, then it became Joias Folheadas (Plated Jewelry) and currently Joias Banhadas (Sheet Jewelry). These are simply different ways of referring to the same process.

Costume jewelry typically contains up to 1/1000th of gold, while semi-precious jewelry (plated or coated) contains 5 to 15 thousandths of gold, thus providing greater quality and durability. Furthermore, the metals preceding the gold are important in determining quality. For example, nickel is not used in the composition of our jewelry, as it is considered a major cause of allergies.

Gem cutting is a jewelry technique used to bring out the best in each gemstone, whether in color, brilliance, or transparency. There are numerous types of cuts, and each one is capable of highlighting the unique beauty of the gems in a different way.

Cabochon: The cabochon cut enhances the colors and optical effects of some stones. The upper part is cut in a domed shape, and the lower part is flat or slightly convex, when it is a double cabochon.

The name "cabochon" is of French origin and comes from its rounded shape.

Briolet Cut: In faceted cutting, we use the briolet technique, where the natural stone is cut on the surface in a square shape, with each facet being perfect, thus revealing greater brilliance and intense color of each gem while maintaining a smooth base.

Stone composition: The technique of natural stone composition consists of overlaying a faceted crystal onto a slice of natural stone. This gives the piece a unique brilliance and optical effect.

Brilliant Cut: This is a cutting style that applies to various types of gemstones but became popular with diamonds. This cut has a pattern characterized by the upper part (crown) and lower part (pavilion). Because it contains many facets, this cut highlights the gemstone's brilliance and is therefore called a brilliant cut.
